Jessica Tarabay, MPH, MHR, CIC

Infection Control Manager

Emory University Hospital, Emory Orthopaedic & Spine Hospital, and Emory Wesley Woods Hospital

Jessica Tarabay has over 8 years of Infection Prevention experience and holds a background in public health and epidemiology. Jessica joined Emory Healthcare in May of 2019 where she serves as the Manager of Infection Prevention and serves as a subject matter expert for a variety of specialties including Hematology/Oncology, Solid Organ and Bone Marrow Transplant, Emergency Preparedness, Behavioral Health, and Perioperative services. Jessica is certified in Infection Control, has published and presented on a variety of topics in infection prevention and control, and serves on the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion National APIC taskforce. Jessica was the recipient of the 2021 March of Dimes, “Friend of Nurse” award in Georgia and will serve as the 2023 President-Elect of the Greater Atlanta Georgia Chapter of APIC.   Jessica is a current doctoral candidate in the Dr.PH program at the University of Georgia. 

Chris Ware, BS, MS

Quality Control Manager

Emory University Hospital and Emory Rehab Hospital

Chris Ware currently serves as a Quality Control Manager for Environmental Services (EVS) at Emory University Hospital and Emory Rehab Hospital. He has over 5 years of experience in healthcare, creating and improving processes, procedures, policies and training, which has led to increases in productivity, employee morale and, ultimately, the patient experience. Prior to working in healthcare, Chris worked for Huntington Ingalls Industries (a spinoff company of Northrup Grumman) as a Project Engineer and Mechanical Engineer for various complex programs and projects. In 2016, Chris was selected by a panel of industry, government, and academia leaders for a national award for his contributions and achievements in the defense industry. He was presented the Modern Technology Leader STEM award from BEYA (Black Engineer of the Year Award). Chris holds a bachelor of science in Physics, from North Carolina A&T State University, and a master of science in Engineering Management and Systems Engineering from The George Washington University.
